It can be difficult to look back on what should and shouldn't work for a general oil change, especially when some myths pop up regarding what counts and doesn't count.
A certain myth comes to mind that claims synthetic oils lead to leaks, which might have been true only back when they first came out in the 1970s. Ultimately, the main reason why any of that happened at the time was because the oils themselves were not perfected, and they were only capable of causing wear and tear to crucial components like gaskets and seals used for a car's engine. Modern takes of synthetic oils don't have this flaw anymore, meaning that they are actually given all of the formulas made to help an engine feel safe from any leaks. In a way, this means that synthetic oils are much better at keeping the crucial component safe than normal oils are.
