Even after filling all four of your tires with air, you may notice that the tire pressure monitoring system isn't going off. The first thing you should do is take your vehicle for a little spin. Many makes and models require you to drive a few miles before the light will reset itself. If it still doesn't go off, resist the urge to overfill your tires. These could be the issues:

  • A malfunctioning tire pressure system could be throwing out alerts when the pressure levels in all four tires are fine.
  • You could have a screw or piece of debris on your tire that is causing the pressure in your tires to seem unsteady. Check all of your treads for any signs of a puncture.
  • If you've recently filled your tires but the temperatures got colder outside, this could have caused the air in your tires to condense to a lower level.
